The Winter Speaker Series is back!
Rocky Mountain Conservancy (RMC) and Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) are excited to announce that our Winter Speaker Series will be back in 2025, and we hope you’ll join us! Mark your calendars now for this chance to hear from rangers, researchers, and other Rocky experts. We’ll see you there!
- Sunday, January 19th: The Grand Ditch Holds More Than Water – The Grand Ditch carries not just water but histories of multi-cultural labor efforts, fascinating engineering feats, controversial water policies, and demonstrates the ever-present battle between park preservation and exploitation. Presented by Jessie Foster, Park Guide, RMNP
- Sunday, February 2nd: Fireforest screening, followed by a panel discussion with park staff on wildfire mitigation and recovery efforts within Rocky Mountain National Park
- Sunday, February 16th: Arboreal Armageddon: Post-fire Plant Communities in Rocky Mountain National Park, presented by Chris Maienza, 2024 RMC Scholar in Residence
- Sunday, March 2nd: Puma concolor: A Secretive Neighbor That You Should Get to Know, presented by Stephen Dolan, Park Guide, RMNP
- Sunday, March 16th: Falcons: Streamlined for Speed, presented by Perry Conway, RMC Field Institute Instructor
- Sunday, April 6th: How Beavers Will Save Rocky, presented by Nick Morris, Park Guide, RMNP
- Sunday, April 20th: Efforts to Restore Boreal Toad Populations in RMNP, presented by Jonathan Lewis, Conservation Biology Program Manager, RMNP
Each 1-hour presentation will begin at 2:00pm in the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center Auditorium, located at 1000 US-36 in Estes Park, CO.
Presentations are free and open to the public. Registration is appreciated and helps us ensure adequate seating, but is not required.
