Bettie Course: Introduction to Winter Recreation

This Bettie Course is offered to women, and individuals that identify as women, in collaboration with KMAC in Estes Park, CO. This experience is an introduction to winter recreational activities. If you’re new to exploring the outdoors in the winter, this is the course for you!

This course involves classroom instruction, preparation for an outdoor excursion, and a mild snowshoe hike in Rocky Mountain National Park. This course is all in-person in Estes Park, CO.

These courses are offered through Rocky Mountain Conservancy, where scholarships are provided through the Magnificent Mountain Women Scholarship Fund. For more information about scholarships, please email Carlie at carlie.bangs@rmconservancy.org with more information.

Who: Adults over 18 years old, individuals who can ski a Blue Diamond at a resort

What to Bring:

  • Warm winter layers, including a winter hat and gloves or mittens
  • A daypack
  • Plenty of water (at least 2 L)
  • High energy snacks
  • Dry socks and spare shoes for afterwards
  • Sturdy hiking shoes
  • Snowshoes and poles

Where: Meet at the Estes Park Visitor Center at 500 Big Thompson Ave, Estes Park, and travel together into Rocky Mountain National Park in the Conservancy’s vehicle

When: Saturday, March 19, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
