Join us for a series of informal, natural science-based talks highlighting the Rocky Mountain National Park region!

Connecting the public with specialty science, local research, current events, and fascinating creatures, Rocky Mountain Conservancy is eager to collaborate with the Old Gallery to present Science Connections. An extension of the Conservancy’s Field Institute, this speaker series connects expert scientists, historians, and naturalists to the community, bringing high level research to the public in an approachable and comfortable setting. These neighborhood discussions, held on the second Thursday of the month (June – September) will allow time for questions and discussion after the presentation.

These programs are free and open to the public, but space is limited! Should we run out of room, priority will be given to those who have registered in advance.

Rocky Mountain National Park is a vast and extreme landscape, with a stark beauty that attracts millions each year. Unfortunately, not everyone who visits is prepared for the wild and changing conditions. Each year, hundreds of park visitors require Search and Rescue assistance, and thousands more minor incidents or close calls go unrecorded. Learn how our 2024 Bailey Research Fellow, JT Lambert, will leverage on-the-ground data collection at some of Rocky’s most popular trailheads to help park staff develop additional strategies to keep park visitors safe in the back-country.
