Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - Donations
When making your gift, you choose which fund your donation supports. If you select the Best Use Fund, your gift goes to the highest priority projects across Rocky Mountain National Park, supporting a broad range of conservation, education, and stewardship initiatives. Other funds, such as Wildlife, focus on specific areas within the park, allowing you to direct your support to projects that matter most to you. Every gift, regardless of fund, directly helps protect and preserve the park for current and future generations.
No. Memberships and donations are processed separately. For audit and tax purposes, we are not allowed to use a donation to cover membership dues.
If you would like your support to include a membership, please use our membership form or let us know at the time of your gift.
Donations and memberships are both essential to our work, but serve slightly different purposes.
Donations go directly to support conservation, education, and research projects inside Rocky Mountain National Park. Your gift has an immediate impact on the land, wildlife, and visitor experiences.
Memberships help sustain the core operations of the Rocky Mountain Conservancy, allowing our team to coordinate programs, engage supporters, and provide long-term support to Rocky Mountain National Park.
When you make a donation, you’re directly protecting and preserving Rocky Mountain National Park. When you become a member, you’re also joining a community of park supporters committed to its future.
Yes. 100% of your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Because every individual’s situation is different, we recommend consulting with your tax advisor for specific guidance.

Memberships and license plates are separate programs, each with its own benefits and processing systems. The IRS requires us to keep these programs separate for legal and tax purposes, so we cannot combine them with general donations. If you would like to join or renew your membership, or support through a license plate purchase, please use the dedicated pages for those programs.
Yes. Online donations receive an immediate email confirmation of the gift at the time of payment. Official tax letters are mailed by the Conservancy within about two weeks for gifts made directly to us.
