b'Mission Accomplished for 2020The Rocky Mountain Conservancy provides services, educational experiences and materials to enhance Rocky Mountain National Park and surrounding public lands for all park visitors. We strive to be responsive to this mission with a strong business model and efficient practices, as well as through engaging programming and the creation of compelling educational programs.The Membership ConnectionThe Conservancys membership continues to build a strong constituency of support, enabling us to carry out our mission to conserve the park. Conservancy members are the lifeblood of our organization, forming a stable foundation for operations. Members have also become a valuable resource for volunteer activities when needed. Our membership program offers members a vibrant array of discounts and invitations to special events and opportunities to engage with the park through stewardship.Wildfires in RockyIn 2020, relentless and devastating wildfires burned more than 30,000 acres in Rocky Mountain National Park through the summer and fall months. A perfect storm of drought conditions and dry weather gave rise to the Cameron Peak and East Troublesome fires. Fire crews worked tirelessly around the clock, and with the help of winter weather and cooler temperatures were finally able to get the fires contained.The Conservancy responded with the creation of a Wildfire Restoration Fund, to help mobilize our donor community around this incredible need. Conservancy donors gave more than $157,000 in support of fire restoration efforts. The funds will help the Conservancy support cleanup and restoration, including rebuilding trails, historic structures, and visitor infrastructure, all of which will be imperative to the recovery of the park and visitor experience.
