b'Next Generation ProgramsEDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS: Overall, in 2019, the Next Generation Fund enabled Rockys Education and Outreach Program to provide 237 field programs to more than 12,000 participants. These programs included winter snowshoe programs, spring and fall field trips, as well as the popular summer drop-in family program, Discovery Days. For many of these program participants, its their first outdoor adventure, discovering and learning about the unique resources of Rocky Mountain National Park. For others, it was their first visit to a national park.Support from the Next Generation Fund has been crucial in creating these valuable experiences. That includes annual support to help schools that cannot afford bus transportation costs to the park as well as supplies and materials for programming. In addition, the Next Generation Fund provided support for stipends, training and housing costs for the cadre of education interns who are mentored by the parks education rangersmost of whom are just starting their professional careers working with children outdoors, nurturing curiosity and inspiring the next generation of stewards. 2019 ANNUAL REPORT | 13'
