Buffalo Creek Trail Bridge Project with Headwaters Trail Alliance

The Conservancy is partnering with Headwaters Trail Alliance for a weekend of camping and trail improvements on the Buffalo Creek Trail. The USFS areas bordering the Kawuneeche Valley of Rocky Mountain National Park are home to lush subalpine forests and wetland areas.

This project will focus on installing a bridge at the trail head to help protect a beaver habitat and wetland ecosystems and ensure safe access for hikers. The project will also help improving the trail surface by restoring eroded areas.

Volunteers will be able to camp near the trail head and the work is within the first mile of the trail. This is a beautiful area just outside Grand Lake with great mountain views and stunning flora and fauna.

This is a unique volunteer opportunity and a great time to give back to the land while camping and working with like-minded community partners.
